Limited Edition, Reissue. The William Claxton Collection. 180 Pure Vinyl LPs in Gatefold Packaging.

Chet Baker Sings is the debut vocal album by jazz musician Chet Baker, released in 1954 by Pacific Jazz Records. In 2001, the album received the Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

It's difficult to decide whether Chet Baker was a trumpet player who sang or a singer who played trumpet but this cover centers on his singing, ideal for the titled album. Shot in Los Angeles, in February 15th, 1954 during the recording of the album itself. Inside we see another photo taken during the recording of the same album, this time in March 7th, 1955.

The photographs of William Claxton define the essence of cool – his stunningly intimate images of icons like Chet Baker combine technical innovation and an unerring sense of the moment to forge a singular aesthetic he defined as ‘jazz for the eyes’ - Jason Ankeny (AllMusic)
